I offer a FREE 20 minute phone consultation/discovery session so that we can get to know each other better, discuss your goals, decide if we are a good match to work together, and help you decide which type of class would best serve your current situation. These lessons can be a private yoga lesson or done as a group and can be done with just yoga or with guided meditations.
In each type of yoga class, variations of poses are offered based on the student's ability and physical limitations.
All Level Yoga- These classes may include Vinyasa (movement with breath) and are for the student who would like to increase flexibility and stamina. Standing poses are done for developing core strength and balance and seated poses are performed for stretching the body and developing flexibility. Beginner to advanced students welcome.
Beginner - These classes are designed for students who are new to yoga and want to learn proper alignment and breath. These classes include standing poses for balance and strength and seated poses for developing flexibility.
Cancer Patients/Survivors - For the student who is dealing with the transition/recovery of the effects of cancer. These types of yoga classes are specifically designed yoga classes to help these students deal with the issues that may arise with a cancer diagnosis and the effects of treatment. Both gentle movement and/or meditation are focused on and every class is structured with you and your needs in mind.
Gentle – These classes are designed with gentle movements to allow the body to release built-up tension. Often times, the poses are all done in a seated position or on the hands and knees. These poses can also be altered for those who need to remain in a chair. This type of yoga is perfect for those suffering from the effects of an injury or cancer.
Prenatal- These classes are designed for students who are pregnant and want to learn safe and proper alignment during this celebrated and transitional time in their lives. These classes include standing poses for balance and strength and seated poses for developing and maintaining flexibility.
Restorative - These classes are comprised of gentle movements and the use of props to allow the body to fully relax. In the restorative poses (using props) the poses are held for a longer time to facilitate relaxation. Often times, the poses are all done in a seated position or on the hands and knees.
Guided Meditations (Nidra) - Yoga Nidra, also called the ‘Yogic Sleep’, will guide you to the state between wakefulness and sleep. These guided meditations are a systematic way to create physical, mental and emotional relaxation and release accumulated tension in the body. Gentle movement may also be performed prior to the meditations. These meditations usually last between 30-40 minutes. Experience a free Nidra for yourself on the MEDITATION page of this site.
